Julia A. Peltz is originally from the Midwest and has been residing in Portland, Oregon since 1987. She attended Iowa State University and North Dakota State University where she studied Fashion Illustration and Fine Art. In more recent years she was trained in oil painting by her mother, Verna Carey Armstrong, an artist who teaches painting in North Dakota. This was a treasured time in her life where she came upon her passion for oils.
Ms. Peltz specializes in modern portraiture and still life. She has shown her work at Gallerie Rene’ and in many art shows and venues in the Portland area. She received a blue ribbon in the Lake Oswego Arts Festival in 2008.
Currently she is teaching painting classes in her home studio and holds children’s painting workshops in the summer.

I love how the Arts in their many forms can uplift, inspire and bring joy to moments caught in life. I believe that these moments are a gift from God and can be a reprieve from, or an enhancement to life on this planet. It is my hope that my paintings bring a touch of that joy to the viewer.
