My paintings communicate social and cultural experiences of my life as an african and a woman artist. They are a documentation of the different experiences, events, peoples, and situations that I have personally gone through or people I have met that I would like to share with the rest of the world. My paintings are my journal, personal stories of my real life experiences, my past and my dreams.
I use thick bodies of acrylic and oil with a palette knife to create dramatic textures with un-detailed human figures. I love to leave the emotions of the figures a mystery to the viewer so I give little or no details while I paint. I love to stimulate every viewers interpretation of the painting which usually gets me different interesting responses. I use vibrant colors and play with the forms to create a 3-Dimentional feeling to my paintings.
